Well hey. This was an exciting week filled with service, writing songs, filming videos, enjoying the incredible weather, miracles and more service!
We had many service opportunities this week. We wrote letters for a company one day, moved holiday decor one day, helped organize a garage sale another day and helped stain wood at a members house a different day! Service is the best.
So we wrote a song this week! We have been trying to post more about general conference since it’s coming up this weekend and so some of the Elders reached out to us and asked if we wanted to come up with a some we could make a video with. So we spent an evening writing the song and then filmed it a few days later. It was so so fun! Hopefully we can get the video up on facebook by today so y’all can see it!
The weather this week has been in the high 70’s which is just about perfect in my opinion. So my companion and I have tried to spend a lot of time outside. We like to sit in our pool area while we study and with the breeze and warm sunshine, it has been incredibly pleasant.
So you might be wondering what the deal is with my subject title…. Well! We got transfer calls yesterday and I am training this transfer!! IM GONNA BE A MOM!! I’m so so excited! I’m staying with current companion in Saratoga, so we will be in a trio. I’m way excited! I’ll fill y’all in more next week when I’ve actually met her!
We had a lesson this week with the two little girls and it went really well. We talked for a long time with their sweet mother and we talked about some stuff that I think is really important. Sometimes it can be really hard to go to church. For various reasons. But specifically if you’re going through your own gethsemane and others don’t know about it. Or they think the situation is different than how it really is. We are imperfect people and as such, we tend to be unfair judges to those around us. Sometimes we can feel judgment when we go to church. Perhaps we haven’t been in awhile and you cant help but feel like every eye is on you or you’re convinced people are thinking “well, look who finally decided to show up”. Maybe, you slipped up and now you are going through the repentance process so you don’t partake of the sacrament for a little while. It can feel like everyone around us notices and is just dying to know what’s wrong. Whether these assumptions of people’s behavior or thought are accurate of not, it does not matter. We do not go to church to please other people. Church is a hospital for the spiritually sick and injured. We are all fighting our own battles. We go to church because we need the Savior in our messed up, broken lives. We need to partake of the sacrament and start a new week with the mindset we need to be in. The opinions of others are completely irrelevant. You know why you’re going and you know your own story and so does Jesus Christ and the people in your life that really matter and that’s good enough. Don’t worry about others. Period.
You guys are seriously the best. Thank you for all you do!!
