Oh boy it has been a WEEK. So let’s just dive right in.
We started the week with an awesome p-day! We all went to Cabela’s and had a party there and I bought a new shirt! We also took our new companion to Buc-cee’s for the first time! Buc-cee’s is basically one of the largest gas stations ever and you can buy almost anything there. All the sisters went and we all bought matching Buc-cee’s Christmas sweaters. Now the entire zone has those sweaters…. Then we went to the church and chilled there for the rest of the day. We finished the day by deciding to chop Sister Wilson’s hair off!! Sister Hall and I gave our first real haircut, and it looks so good!! I’ll attach pictures.
We were feeling dangerous one day this week and we went to the main building in the apartment complex and made a cup of coffee. We didnt drink it. We just made it. And held it for a little while. Then threw it out lol
Christmas Eve we spent with a family in the ward and we played games, ate pizza and made gingerbread houses. Not my usual Christmas Eve, but super fun none the less. But of course, after going home, we stayed up kinda late just chatting and having a good time. It was CHRISTMAS EVE!!
The next morning we got up nice and early and opened presents! Thank you to everyone who sent me something for Christmas, every little gift and card was appreciated❤ Afterwards, I made trainwreck (basically breakfast burritos) for the district breakfast we had that morning! We all met at the bougiest apartment in the district and had a fantastic morning with everyone. We met up with the rest of the Zone after that and hung out for basically the rest of the day
UNTIL
We are informed that a family we had seen the day before had someone test positive for COVID. You know what that means…. QUARANTINE TIME🙌 So as of Christmas evening, we have been in quarantine!😂😅
So yay for facebook work and very, many much studies! Hahaha, so we have set some goals of things we want to accomplish before the end of quarantine so hopefully we will stay busy. One thing we want to do is get tan… we just go sit out in the sun sometimes. Gotta get that vitamin D!!
Anywayssssss so for my little thought today I wanted to quote “The Lamb of God” by Rob Gardner. This is the moment when Christ tells His apostles that one of them will betray Him. In a song called “Lord, Is It I?”, the apostles say-
“Oh Savior, take thou my weakness from me, help thou my unbelief! Let nothing overcome me! Be thou with me, my sure relief. Thou art my only shephard, thou art the only way. Oh, may I ever serve thee.”
To ask to have your weakness taken away and to beg for help with your fears and doubts, is a yearning I feel to a great extent. In 2 Nephi 4:31, Nephi asks- “Wilt thou make me that I may shake at the appearance of sin?”
What a noble desire Nephi has! We will all be tempted to make mistakes or we may become intrigued by unwanted or evil things. There may be times we feel too weak to stand firm in our faith. Or perhaps we fear that we may be the one who will betray our Savior, so to speak. To fall on your knees, and to beg for the strength to overcome such forces is a virtuous and powerful blessing to ask your Heavenly Father for! I believe that is a blessing our God will give to us IMMEDIATELY when we sincerely ask for it.
Christ is “the only way”. The only way to find true joy is through Him and His Atonement. I know that to be true because of how I feel when I hyper focus on Him in my life. I know this because of the person I’ve become by living His Gospel. He lives. I know it.
Have a great week everyone! Happy New Year!
