You really never know what’s gonna happen in a week. P-day rolls around and you just wonder what the next week has in store. Let’s just say this last week did not disappoint..

Happy Monday everyone! I hope y’all have had a great week! My week started out with some good and some bad. Let’s start with the bad. I was pretty sick the first half of the week. Congested with a crazy sore throat and I sounded like a 12-year-old boy going through puberty. Let’s just say Minson did a lot of talking this week. But good news! We started the week off with the Hermanas from Denton living with us! They were only with us 3 days, but what a hoot and a half! It’s so fun to have other missionaries in Decatur. Besides some service we did one day, we all exercised in the morning together, got ready and then split up, did our thing, and met up again in the evening. Like living in a quad.

One evening this week we experienced a pretty awesome miracle. We had received a message from someone asking for a bible and she told us where she worked and said we could bring it to her sometime. We didn’t know if she was working that night and she hadn’t answered our text asking if she was, so we considered not going and trying another time. But we both felt that we should give it a try. We walked in and we saw a worker who definitely wasn’t the girl we were looking for, but she spotted us and walked up to us. She said “Hey I know y’all!” We kinda looked at each other like “uh you do? In a good way or a bad way?” But she told us she was in our ward. She told us her name and I recognized it right off the bat.  She ended up talking to us for a very long time. We told her we had felt a distinct impression to come here tonight and we both were convinced it was to meet her. The other girl we wanted to give a bible to had just ended her shift and left when we showed up. It was an awesome experience and we know that Heavenly Father directed us.

Wednesday we had our last District Council before transfers which made me want to cry. Also one of our Zone Leaders Elder Gregory is going home so we held a “funeral” for him and everyone wore black (pictures to come).

We did chalkboarding again on Thursday which was fun but there were these guys who were definitely high that wanted to just bash us. But Elder Bugingo handled it really well and even ended up having a good conversation with them. That night we spent in Denton with the STL’s so we could do free speech the next morning. Free speech is basically the same thing as chalkboarding except it’s just a white board and we do it on UNT campus. It was just Minson and I and a guy from the YSA ward, but it was fun! I did most of the talking to people which was definitely outside my comfort zone, but I’m really proud of myself and it went really well. It’s also kinda easy because we are “undercover missionaries” without a name tag, going by our first names. So no one is pre-judging you. But it was good for me.

Saturday was LEAP DAY! So so cool! I wish I could’ve watched my favorite movie Leap Year in honor of it, but alas, I cannot. So I hope some of y’all did! Super good movie if you’ve never seen it. But anyway, it was the last day of the month and we had extra miles to spare! So we drove up to Bowie and delivered a Bible to someone up there who also accepted a Book of Mormon! So so exciting! We went and saw a the biggest Bowie knife in the world on the way up and also visited a lady we had been teaching before and had a great conversation with her. That was a good day.

Some more good news is that I am starting to feel a lot better and recovering slowly but surely from my sickness. It’s crazy how many people are coming down with stuff. Wash your hands and drink lots if water! Stay healthy!

Also we got transfer calls yesterday and Minson and I are staying together in Decatur! Yayyyy!!
I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to serve a full-time mission for the Lord. I’m grateful for the many blessings I’ve witnessed and for the trials that I am able to learn from. I know that this is the Lord’s Restored Gospel on the earth and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and supports the Bible as another testament of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ restored his Gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith and we have a living prophet on the earth today who leads and guides this church and the world. I love this Gospel. I love the truths that come from it and the hope and joy and peace that comes from living it. I love my Savior and am infinitely grateful for the sacrifice he made for me so that I can return to him and my Father one day. What a blessing 🙂

Have a super week this week and eat lots of bagels! I cant express how much you all mean to me. Y’all make me wanna WEEP because of all the love and support I feel from you guys. Thank you so much. Stay fresh, cheese bags!
