Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope ya’ll had a great day celebrating our country filled with laughter, fun and family!
For our fourth of July, all the missionaries in our Zone met up at the institute building and had a pancake breakfast and hung out playing ping pong, pool and foosball. It was a blast! We played teams in foosball and around the world on the ping pong table. Then I played a very dangerous game on the pool table hahaha. Me and one of the Elder’s stood on either ends of the table and the idea was to try and get as many of the pool balls in the pockets on the other person’s side. But we used our hands to throw them.. so, this is maybe the most painful game I have ever played. I got smashed in the hands and fingers by pool balls too many times to count and my hands are all bruised now because of it. But man, it was fun. And I definitely won more than him, soooo…
Don’t worry, we did some contacting and real missionary work that day, but later in the day, we went fishing! The new favorite “outside time” activity. I caught my first fish since being on a mission and he was the cutest little guy! (Picture included) It was super hot though, like in the upper 90’s with high humidity but it was great time. Plus, it feels good to sweat and be outside!
We also went fishing earlier in the week and one of the Elders was squatting down to pick up a fish and his pants just tore open! It was hilarious! I decided to be a good friend and get him a hoodie to tie around his waist but boy did I laugh.
This week we also had the fantastic opportunity to finish the Book of Mormon with the entire mission before the mission split! This last month we, as a mission, read the entire Book of Mormon together and on the 30th, we had a zoom call where we all read the last chapter together. It was so cool.
This week we also heard about transfers and my companion is leaving and I am staying and getting a new companion coming from Brazil, so that is exciting!
Well, that might be all I have for this week, except I did go to the doctor! Lol they checked my vitals and just told me to go to an ophthalmologist, so that’s fun! I will keep ya’ll updated with that as well!!
I hope ya’ll have a great week!
