Another transfer comes to an end this week! We found out that I will be staying in Alliance but one of our trio will be headed out to Denton West! Crazyyyyy!

This week was a really great one! We started the week by celebrating my birthday last Monday and it was awesome! My mom sent me a bunch of party supplies so we decked out the gym and had a good time.

We did some service at this lady’s house and it was like a ZOO! They had 2 squirrels, 5 dogs, 3 rabbits, 1 parrot and a koi pond with a bunch of koi fish! It was so fun to see all the animals! Though I have to say, I don’t think I’d ever want that many animals in my house hahaha. But I enjoyed it😂

We had a super fun opportunity this week to film a video as a zone with the Tech Zone. They brought all their fancy cameras and equipment and we had such a fun time filming! The video idea was to do the mystery box game where you try and guess the object just by feeling it and then you talk about the item a little bit. We had some spiritual items so at the end they could bear their testimony about them, but then we had some reeeaaally fun items😂😂 My favorite item was the full, slimy, dead tilapia fish we put in the box (I have some pictures of them, don’t worry) The missionaries had some good reactions so I’m excited to see the final product!

We went to Waffle House this week with some other sisters in the Zone and it was the best thing ever. We first walked in and the guy who was seating people greeted us at the door with the biggest smile! “What?? The MISSIONARIES??” His name was DJ and turned out he was a member! We chatted for a bit and then he seated us and we met our waiter, Enoch! He was the nicest, funniest guy I’ve ever met! He called us the “Seestah’s”😂 I haven’t laughed that hard or that much in a little while! We enjoyed our food and when it was time for Enoch to give us our bill, instead of giving us our tickets, he wrote on a napkin- “Sisters: $0.00 – Enoch” and slapped it on the table! We still don’t know who paid for us, but it was such a tender mercy😭❤️ Then we had a mini dance party in the parking lot haha but anyway…

Today we went golfing at top golf and that was a party as well! I’m definitely crazy garbage at golfing, but we will get there… I bought a membership anyway so now I kinda have to🤷‍♀️

Well ill wrap up this email with a nice spiritual thought. I told y’all last week that I received a little baby, potted mango seed for my birthday last week from an Elder in the mission, well something really amazing happened to it this week! I was doing my personal study and my plant sits on my desk, so I pulled it closer to me and rested my head against it as I studied. For the last week it has been just a pot filled with dirt, BUT I kid you not, after I finished my studies and looked at my plant, my little mango tree was popping out of the dirt!

Now, this may be silly, but I’ve thought a lot about this hahaha. When my friend gave me this plant he wrote a note on it and it said- ” />Alma 32, you know that he compares faith to a seed and talks about nourishing it and caring for it so it can grow. Well when I got this plant and read the note about faith, I decided that I needed to have faith that it was gonna grow! But I couldn’t just believe or hope it was gonna grow, I needed to act too! So every day, I would check to make sure the soil was damp and it had good sunlight. But this wasn’t enough, so I decided I would sing to it!

So every day this last week, I would sing one of my favorite lullabies my dad sang to me growing up. I had faith that this was gonna make it grow. And it did!

Okay I know you’re probably thinking… “But Sister Oldham, that is crazy! Singing won’t make it grow more!” and you know, maybe that’s true… But the principle is the same! Faith requires action! We read time and time again in the scriptures that God works according to our faith! But we must show God we are willing to work for the things we want or are in need of😊

I hope y’all have had a fantastic week and that this week is a good one as well! I love you all so so much!

Scripture of the week: Alma 32!
