Oh. Well hey.
I didn’t see you there.
Hows it going?
How’ve ya been?

I hope all has been well! Another adventure filled week this one was. And we’ll start at the very beginning…

Honestly, this week has been pretty chill. Sister Minson has been pretty sick this week so the first few days we spent trying to get her better. Which was letting her get as much sleep as possible. This gave me the opportunity to listen to a lot of talks and do a lot of studies. I also cleaned out the fridge, did a lot of dishes, unclogged the shower drain (what a blessing), set some personal goals, read the scriptures, wrote in my journal, watched some inspirational videos and so much more. It’s really crazy how much stuff you can do in one day when you don’t have social media to distract you. I remember before my mission how much time I could spend scrolling through Instagram alone. And I mean hours! What a blessing it is to not have that out here. Crazy crazy crazy.

We started working on a big social media project this week and so we spent a lot of time filming missionaries doing regular missionary things for it. That was a lot of fun and we had some members help us out. The finished product is pretty fun! It’s a little blurry and there are a few mistakes here and there… but oh well! Perfection comes in the next life! Am I right? 😉

The evening we had Arby’s for dinner and got two free apple turnovers! They said the wait was too long and asked if we wanted some. Honestly the wait wasn’t even bad, but we weren’t about to turn them down. We went to young women’s that evening and they were gonna do yoga. Unfortunately we couldn’t join them because we were in skirts, but before the started yoga-ing, one of the leaders talked about how much hugging really affects people and how good it is for you. So we all went around and hugged each other!! How cute is that? I didn’t even know how much I needed it until after we had our little hugging party. Those girls are super awesome.

During lunch on Friday, we had an interesting experience. We were out at Panda Express and this man walked up and looked at Minson’s name tag and asked “Okay, now where do y’all work?”… Minson told him we were missionaries for our church and he of course asked which church and he responded the way most people do. He turned his body away from us slightly and started shaking his head. We asked him if he’d ever heard of us and he said “well yeah I’ve heard of ya”. He went on to tell us how he was always told we were a cult and thought men of our faith had multiple wives and all this false stuff that we unfortunately hear all the time. We told him a bunch of our basic beliefs, explained some of the misconceptions and introduced him to the Book of Mormon. He said he didn’t think he’d ever join the church, but he was interested in finding out more about The Book of Mormon. Halla! We’ll take it! He sat and talked with us for while longer and we were able to share even more with him. Man. What a miracle.

Saturday was a party because we had a BLITZ! This is when other missionaries from your Zone come up to your specific area and help out with stuff for a day. We decided to help an old lady in the ward clean her basement which she hadn’t really been in or done anything with since her husband passed away. And uh… he passed away 7 about years ago? Yeah. It needed cleaning! Minson and I checked the place out the day before and it is a huge basement and I swear it was haunted. And her house is OLD, so it is especially creepy. So being able to get down there and scrub and sweep and mop and vacuum and all that was awesome. It was especially nice being with a bunch of other missionaries. There were 8 of us total. 4 elders, 4 sisters. Afterwards we split up and everyone else went knocking doors while we went to try and visit people. And of course, no one was home.. but the other missionaries found some people for us to teach which is way awesome. We finished the day going out to eat at Rock City Burger which is the best burger place ever.

Sunday was chill. We had to get up early for some church meeting which wasn’t fun but I was grateful for the chance to talk with all of them about the people we are teaching and get help. In the evening we went to dinner at this members home and celebrated the 3rd birthday of their daughter who passed away when she was 5 months old. Needless to say I totally cried. What an honor it was to be there.

But anyway! That’s all for me! More adventures lie ahead! I feel like I’ve been out for years already not just a month and a half-ish hahaha. But man I’m so happy I’m a missionary! This Church is true!

Have a great week everyone! Keep emailing me throughout the week! I love it! Peace out! Like my dad always says- “Remember who you are!”
