Well, how about this last week, huh? Everything changes so fast! It’s been a roller coaster! I hope ya’ll are hanging in there!
So we had my first ever District Pday last week rather than the full Zone Pday which was a bummer.. didnt get to see all the homies. But that was just the beginning to all the changes. Also I discovered I can no longer eat at El Pollo Loco because the District went on Pday and it’s the second time I’ve gotten sick after eating there soooo… that’s another big bummer.
So we have been told as missionaries, that we should no longer be visiting people in their homes. So no member dinners and no face to face lessons or contacts. However we were able to do some service for our favorite little old lady in Decatur with the pair of Elders that replaced us up there. We did some yard work for her and it was super fun.
I gave my first training on Wednesday! It was about finding and focusing on the needs of people we teach and also being prepared to answer their questions! It actually went really good! I was crazy nervous, but the spirit totally helped me out and the other missionaries were very receptive so I’m really grateful.
Honestly not much else has happened. We have been stuck inside and we did have an opportunity to film a few videos for Facebook with some Elders, but that’s pretty much all the time we’ve had outside the apartment. I am however grateful for the technology we have today. I cant imagine not being able to communicate and share messages with people.
It has been a rough day today. We are finding out about missionaries from our mission who are being sent home as soon as a week from now. Including some missionaries I’ve gotten really close to… no fun at all. There have been many tears and I dont doubt there will be many more. Some things aren’t turning out the way we thought they were going to and it’s been tough to accept that. We have to sit back and humble ourselves and trust our Heavenly Father and his plan for us. And that… is not easy.
But I heard a quote once… “Be grateful for the opportunity to have ANYTHING come your way”.
I’ve tried really hard to live by that and find the great out of everything or see how I am blessed through every trial. It is crazy how much changes when you make that your perspective. Sometimes I have to mentally step outside of a situation and totally redo my thinking. But it’s been such blessing! And prayer has been such a strength. I testify that prayer is real and Heavenly Father is always listening.
I’m grateful for this gospel and the chance I have to be one of God’s missionaries and the Savior’s representatives. I love the Book of Mormon and I love my Savior. This Gospel is true and makes me the most happy.
I love you all! Have a great week and be safe! But also dont worry 😉
I’ll give ya a scripture next week!
